Today I was driving to an interview, and had a good hour to just meditate and think about my God and my Lord. I had to pull out my phone and record my thoughts. It was about His love, righteousness, justness, and sovereignty. In the end it was about how glorious He is and what He has done for us. Below are my thoughts:
In your journey on earth, God is not far from you, speaking to you and calling you to Himself. As you walk, you have two choices: seek, understand, and trust in the God of the universe who loves you and has done everything for you; or ignore and reject Him.
God wants to embrace you and bless you. He wants to adopt you as His own child. His hands are outstretched, and He knocks on the door of your heart. He just asks that you open and receive Him in.
Once indwelt by the Spirit, He will bless you abundantly, and He has promised to walk with you, to love you, and to give you an eternal inheritance. He will give you wisdom and help you see the error of the world and the wiles of the devil. But you do have to keep listening. The fruit of His words, to those who listen and obey, are fruits of the Spirit. If you listen and obey, you cannot help but produce good works. He is a holy and righteous God and wants us to be like Him. Take a hold of His hand, listen and obey His voice, and you cannot but persevere to the end where He waits to glorify you as His son.
Most in the world ignore His voice. He endures patiently while they reject Him and fall deeper into unrighteousness. He keeps calling, and keeps His hands outstretched, even knowing there are some who will never listen. The more you ignore Him, the harder it is to even hear what He is saying. Don’t ignore Him too long. Don’t willfully reject Him. Answer His call before you can no longer hear it.
God does all this because He's a loving God. He is love. He wants to save everyone. He has no desire that any perish. He has proven this in all that He has done. That is the Good News; He has provided all that we would need to do for salvation. His Son bore the cross, and paid the penalty for the sins of the entire world. The Father's only call is that you listen to His voice and believe in what He says, and trust in Him in your walk. You don't have to work for it, just continue to listen and trust in Him in all that you do.
There are some that look upon this as a God out of control. They look upon this as a God that has to plead in order to get what He wants. They somehow think that this makes God seem weak.
My God is not weak. My God can do anything and everything. He could make you kneel in front of Him just by showing you His full glory. You would cower and fold like a child and weep in His presence. At the end, every knee will bow, either out of love, or out of fear for their coming judgment.
Dictators are all about power and exercising their control. They rule by force. My King in heaven has all the power, but chooses to exercise His complete love and righteousness and justice. He reveals who He is so that you may choose to love Him instead of Him forcing you to love Him.
He is the true King of kings and the Lord of lords.
